3 - Megamusicals - CHF 25
Time & Location
About the Event
Megamusicals are larger-than-life stories with high stakes. With these musicals, the spectacle is often more important than the narrative (e.g. the helicopter in Miss Saigon), leading to a rising ticket prices. This does not, however, mean the narrative is unimportant or uneffective, simply not the priority. With its roots in the "British Invasion" Megamusicals have taken hold and this workshop will explore primary examples Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King and Wicked, as well as discussions of a variety of other shows including Hamilton, Starlight Express, Cats, Ragtime and many more. This theory-based workshop requires no preparation and can be taken as a standalone or in conjunction with other sessions in the Musical Theatre History pack.
