As promised, we are now able give more details about our intensive workshop at the end of November.

So, like we said before, we are very happy to welcoming playwright / screenwriter Bianca Montanaro for the weekend of Nov. 29-30.

In her words:

The art of dramatic storytelling

We’ll begin from the very beginning — the essence of storytelling itself. Before we even approach how a play is structured, we’ll ask a more fundamental question: what is a story? And why, since the dawn of humanity, have we felt the deep, irresistible need to tell them?

From an anthropological and neuroscientific perspective, we’ll explore what drives us to narrate, and how stories shape both our minds and our cultures. From there, we’ll dive into the key theories of narrative and character development — understanding how a character is born, evolves, and comes alive on stage. Once our foundations are set, we’ll move into the architecture of a theatrical text: the division into acts, the rhythm of scenes, and the heartbeat of dramatic structure.

This will be a hands-on, creative workshop. Every concept will be explored through practical exercises — both individual and group work — aimed at transforming theory into experience. By the end of these two days, absolute beginners will have a clear, practical sense of what writing for the stage means, while those with prior experience will discover new tools and perspectives to refine their craft.

Our goal: for each participant to leave with a character to develop and a short theatrical monologue — a seed that can grow into a complete work, and perhaps, one day, into a performance of its own.

This workshop is open to everyone — whether you’re taking your very first step into playwriting or are simply eager to rediscover the joy of storytelling in a new and inspiring way.

The workshop will run from 9:30am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. You can find more information and registration here. Spaces are limited. We look forward to seeing you there!
